JUST IN: Old Mutual Foundation donates fire-fighting equipment

The Old Mutual Foundation partnered with the Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism (MEFT) and Agra to sponsor five firefighting machines to assist the regions where veld fires tend to occur. Agra offered a discount of N$40 000 on the equipment which is valued at N$145 000. Accepting the donation on behalf of the MEFT, Esmerialda Strauss, thanked the sponsors, adding that the donation will be dispatched to the regional forestry offices at Outjo, Rundu, Tsumeb, Otjiwarongo and Rehoboth. The equipment will be managed by the respective offices and will be available for use in the event of a fire emergency.
