President Nangolo Mbumba is currently in the Netherlands where he is attending this year's World Hydrogen Summit. The president arrived in the Netherlands on Saturday and, according to State House, he will stay in that country until the summit ends tomorrow. Mbumba will meet with head of state King Willem-Alexander and prime minister Mark Rutte during his stay.
The summit is organised by the Dutch government, the city of Rotterdam and the Rotterdam Port Authority. According to the programme, Mbumba will deliver a speech this morning. Lüderitz mayor Phil Balhao is mentioned as another guest speaker on the official programme.
Last week, Balhao said he was excited to participate at the event. In a social media post, the mayor called it “a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the largest and most senior global hydrogen event, together with 15 000 hydrogen professionals and over 500 exhibitors!”
He added: “It is truly such a great honour to have the opportunity to represent Lüderitz. My mission is to shed light on the tremendous opportunities down in Lüderitz, our challenges and the great efforts made by the Lüderitz town council to prepare our town for its renaissance”.
