NUST introduces postgraduate ‘walk of achievement’
News in short
The Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) has introduced a postgraduate ‘Walk of Achievement’ – a platform for former students to leave a lasting mark on campus by having their names inscribed on a brick.
The initiative emulates the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame and is targeted at master’s and doctoral candidates to raise funds for postgraduate activities.
Dr Anna Matros-Goreses - executive director of the directorate of research, innovation and partnerships at the university - has applauded the initiative, emphasising its significance as a permanent tribute to the alumni’s academic achievements.
She said qualifying alumni can be inducted into the Walk of Achievement by purchasing a brick on the university’s website.
The first five inductees are Professor Suama Hamunyela, Professor Attlee Gamundani, Dr Licky Erastus, Dr Onjefu Agbo and Dr Simon Muchinenyika.
