The generous shot in the arm is to help the university's needy students achieve their dreams.
The Namibia University of Science and Technology’s (Nust) Eenhana campus on Thursday received a boost of N$100 000 through the institution’s foundation to provide financial assistance, resources and scholarships to students in need across all the university’s campuses.
The campus library also received valuable donations, including from the Nandi-Ndaitwah Family Trust, which presented books valued at N$70 000 to enhance its collection, a statement by the university's public relations officer Cindy van Wyk says.
Meanwhile, the Namibia Scientific Society’s Kuiseb Publishers donated over 60 books, while Reconnaissance Energy (Recon) Africa Ltd provided reading material developed from an energy conference held earlier this year.
Nust Vice-Chancellor Professor Erold Naomab expressed gratitude to the donors, saying their generosity speaks volumes about their commitment to education and the future of young people.
In remarks read on her behalf, Vice-President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah commended Nust for its dedication to providing accessible, quality education throughout Namibia.
