Mighty Erongo shines at National Science Fair
Erongo Region learners shone at the National Science Fair, recently held in Windhoek.
The region entered 12 projects, with six from primary schools and six from secondary schools. They won the best overall primary school project and secured top spots in three categories of plant science, chemistry, and mathematics and statistics.
The primary school learners brought home three gold medals and three silver medals.
Daniela van der Westhuizen from Laerskool Walvisbaai won the best overall primary school project and excelled in plant science.
Alexander Thiart from Karibib Education Centre triumphed in chemistry, while Jadan van Rooyen, an independent entrant, won in mathematics and statistics. Other gold medallists were Jadan van Rooyen and Caleb Coetzee from Duneside High School. Silver medals went to Alexander Thiart, Diese Mulolo from Erongosig Primary School and Mutafela Simvula from Paheye Primary School.
In the secondary school category, the six projects also impressed the judges. Frieda Haimbodi from Kuisebmond Secondary School won the best in chemistry. The region received five silver medals, awarded to Theodor Benyameni and Ndahafa Salmon from Tutaleni High School, Blomie Awases from Duneside High School, Frieda Haimbodi, and Eben Mbako from Karibib Private School.
Additionally, Tylves Kambadha from Tutaleni High School earned a bronze medal.
