ACDT rolls out 60 000 free books monthly for young learners

Major education boost
The African Child Development Trust (ACDT) is set to distribute 60 000 free education books every month to support early childhood learning.
STAFF REPORTER
The African Child Development Trust (ACDT) is set to make a major impact in 2025 with the distribution of 60 000 free education books every month to support early childhood learning. The initiative will provide pre-primary and grades one, two and three learners with essential reading materials appearing in Namibian Sun and Republikein street-sale newspapers.

Of these books, 30 000 pre-primary books will be delivered directly to schools across Namibia, ensuring that even more children have access to quality education resources. Pre-primary books will be distributed in Oshikwanyama, Oshindonga, Otjieherero, Rumanyo, Rukwangali, Khoekhoegowab, English and Afrikaans.

This project is made possible through the generous support of the Ministry of Education, Arts & Culture, Powerline Africa, Capricorn Foundation, and FirstRand Namibia Foundation.
