White rhino poached in Okahandja district
A white rhino bull's carcass was found yesterday afternoon on a farm in the Okahandja district after it was initially injured by poachers.
The injured bull was discovered on the farm last week. Two veterinarians visited the farm to treat the eight-year-old rhino after he was shot in the forehead by poachers.
The owner of the farm told Network Media Hub that he flew over the farm with his gyrocopter on Sunday around 18:00 and saw the bull alive. "On Monday at around 12:00, I discovered his carcass - more or less in the same place as where he was on Sunday evening - as well as the footprints of the poachers," the owner said.
