Weekend robberies claim over N$200 000

Thieves made off with goods worth a total of almost N$202 000 over the weekend, according to the Namibian Police.
In an incident on Friday in Windhoek’s Prosperita, a 40-year-old man was reportedly robbed of valuables worth N$115 000. The victim was robbed of his vehicle, cell phone and N$1 000 in cash.
Also on Friday, goods valued at N$17 000 were reportedly stolen in Havana. The items include clothes, a gas cylinder, shoes, blankets and cosmetics.
In Groot Aub, an employee reportedly stole goods valued at N$20 400 from their employer. According to police, the suspect stole N$5 000 in cash, groceries, cosmetics and keys.
In an unrelated incident in Groot Aub, a house was reportedly robbed of a generator valued at N$11 995 on Friday.
Meanwhile, in Katima Mulilo, a suspect reportedly stole items worth N$20 500 from a house on Saturday. Police said the items include a television, a laptop as well as a pocket Wi-Fi device.
