Tragic drowning of three-year-old child

A three-year-old boy tragically drowned at Timbila Lodge near Omaruru on Monday, 25 November. According to the police, the child had been playing near staff housing quarters when he went missing around 16:30. His mother noticed he was gone and began searching with the help of others.
The search led to the discovery of the child’s shoes near an open sewage pit, located about 30 metres from the houses. Suspecting he might have fallen in, the pit was drained. Sadly, despite a first aid attempt, the boy’s lifeless body was found inside.
