Three men gang-rape mentally-disabled woman
News in short
Three men gang-raped a 27-year-old mentally-disabled woman at the Onyati location in the Oshikoto Region’s Onyaanya constituency last week.
Two of the men - aged 29 and 32 - have been arrested, while the third suspect, whose age is unknown, has yet to be apprehended.
The victim reportedly met the suspects at a cuca shop where one of the men allegedly grabbed her and undressed her before the trio proceeded to gang-rape her.
Oshikoto police regional commander, Commissioner Theopolina Kalompo-Nashikaku, confirmed the incident, adding that it took place on Tuesday, 9 January, at around 21:00.
She said the suspects threatened the victim that they would kill her if she told anyone about the incident.
“However, when she arrived home, she informed her grandmother,” Kalompo-Nashikaku said.
The two men are expected to appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate's Court today. Police investigations continue.
