Teen murder suspects appear in court

The teen duo accused of murdering 17-year-old Kahili Paulus, a grade eight learner at Sikanduko Combined School, appeared in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court yesterday. The suspects, Mario John Asake (18) and Kanyanga Joackim (17), were denied bail, with their next court appearance set for 13 May.
The incident occurred on Friday, 14 March, around 15:30 in the Rundu industrial area. The deceased was reportedly walking in John Mutorwa Street when he was ambushed by two assailants who held him from behind, stabbed him in the chest, and robbed him of his cellphone before fleeing. Paulus died on the scene.
Following police investigations, the suspects were arrested, and the murder weapon, along with the stolen cellphone, was recovered.
