SHORTS: Woman arrested for illegal possession of fuel

A 32-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday at Uuye-Wakapoko location in Ondangwa for possession of over 200 liters of fuel without a valid permit.



According to Oshana crime investigation coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, the arrest occurred around 17:30. The suspect was a passenger in a silver Toyota with an Oshakati registration number when the illegal fuel was discovered.



Police recovered five 25-liter containers filled with fuel, valued at approximately N$2,500. The woman faces charges under the Petroleum Products and Energy Act, Act 13 of 1990, specifically the contravention of regulation 3(1) read with Section 21.



Ndjadila noted that although the suspect has been detained, formal charges have not yet been filed.



Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
