SHORTS: Mentally unstable man kills Gibeon resident
A 43-year-old man died on Saturday in Gibeon, Hardap Region, after he was stabbed in the neck with a knife by a 34-year-old man who allegedly has a history of mental illness. The deceased was identified as Theo Rooi. It is alleged that the suspect first stabbed one man in the back and Rooi intervened to stop the attack. “... the suspect stabbed [Rooi] in the neck, [and he] collapsed against the wall of the nearby premises, fell to the ground and died at the scene,” reads a police report, which further stated that the first victim is under medical care at a local clinic.
