SHORTS: Girl (16) raped in Omusati by domestic worker
A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped between October and November last year at Elondo
West village in Onesi Constituency, Omusati Region, by a domestic worker from her house.
Although the incident was only recently reported, Omusati police regional commander,
Commissioner Ismael Basson, said the alleged rape took place between 24 October and 5 November 2024.
Basson said the suspect lives in the same house as the victim. He allegedly went into girl’s sleeping room undressed and raped her.
“He further threatened the victim not to tell anyone [and] if she does so, he will do something very bad to her by stabbing (her) with a knife,” he said.
Basson added that effort to arrest the suspect were made, but he relocated to Oshakati. His age has not yet been established. Police investigation into the matter continues.
