Robbers posing as patients rob nurse at gunpoint
A nurse and security guard at Lisikili clinic in Zambezi Region were robbed at gunpoint on Friday by robbers who falsely claimed to need urgent medical attention.
The police said it is alleged that the two unknown male suspects arrived at the clinic in the early morning hours of Friday, claiming that one of them had sustained a snake bite on the leg.
After the nurse opened the door, one of the men took out a gun and demanded money, which the nurse handed to them. They stole four cell phones valued at N$6 400 and cash totalling N$880.
No arrests have been made and police investigations continue.
In another incident, the police arrested two men, aged 33 and 39, respectively, at Oneshoko village in Oshana Region for contravening petroleum products regulations. They were found in possession of 13 containers, each holding 25 litres of petrol.
The 33-year-old was allegedly found with five of the containers worth N$3 199 while the 39-year-old was found in possession of eight containers.
The two were scheduled to appear before Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
