Police confiscate over N$85 000 in drugs

Two drug busts were made by the police in the Erongo Region this week.
Warrant officer Tuyenikelao Tashiya confirmed that in the first incident, suspects were found in possession of drugs during a police operation at about 21:45 on Tuesday, 12 March, in a house in Walvis Bay.
Eighty mandrax tablets and 1 336 grams of cannabis (skunk), valued at N$76 400 collectively, were confiscated. "We arrested a 28-year-old Namibian woman, and a male suspect, age unknown, is still at large.”
In another bust on Tuesday afternoon, a 34-year-old Namibian man was arrested during an intelligence-led operation in a flat in Narraville, Walvis Bay.
“He allegedly had seven full and four half mandrax tablets, 23 units of suspected crack cocaine and 113 grams of cannabis (skunk). The estimated value of the drugs is N$9 030,” Tashiya said.
