One person died and seven people sustained injuries to various degrees when a vehicle they were travelling in overturned on the Tsumeb-Tsintsabis road on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Fillipus Ipinge Shipanga.

Oshikoto community policing sub-division Chief Inspector Ellen Nehale-Kangulu said the 39-year-old driver of the vehicle veered to avoid hitting a porcupine but lost control, and the vehicle left the road and overturned.
