Ondangwa: Armed robbers target bar
News in short
Police in the Oshana Region are looking for five suspects who allegedly attacked a bartender, held patrons at knife- and gunpoint, and forcefully removed a cash register and cash on Friday evening.
A case of robbery with aggravating circumstances was opened by the bar owner, a 53-year-old woman.
Chief Inspector Thomas Aiyambo said it is alleged that the suspects approached Kafo Kape Bar and Restaurant, located in Ondangwa’s Uupopo informal settlement, from different directions.
“When they met in front of the establishment, two of them took out pistols and three knives. They ordered all the people who were outside to go inside,” he said.
Three of the suspects removed the cash register - valued at N$5 800 – and stole over N$11 700 in cash, Aiyambo added. Police investigations continue.
