N$5.8m dagga bust in Omaheke
Cannabis worth N$5.8 million (weighing in at 116 935 grams) was intercepted last Thursday at around 02:15 at the Trans-Kalahari border post in Omaheke Region. The consignment was discovered in a truck travelling from South Africa. The truck driver was allegedly assisted by a NamRa official to smuggle cannabis through the checkpoint before police officers on duty foiled the plan.
Namibians Andreas lita Amakali (44), Nyambe Zambwe Melton (27) and Tanzanian national Kahise Sayumwe Kahise were scheduled to appear at the Gobabis court yesterday in connection with the matter.
