Man’s body found in mahangu field
A 52-year-old man’s body was discovered in a mahangu field at Omusheshe village in the Oshana Region on Tuesday.
Oshana police spokesperson, Inspector Thomas Aiyambo, said the man - who cannot be named out of respect for the family - went missing on Saturday, 17 September, and his body was discovered three days later.
“It is alleged that the deceased left the house early in the morning on Saturday and he never returned back home, but he was last seen with a friend at Onamanyiki location in Odjondjo village and they parted ways around 18:00,” Aiyambo said.
He said the deceased’s aunt - who lives with him - was not around on Sunday and she only realised that her nephew had not been home when she returned.
“They started looking for him, but only found his decomposed body on Tuesday in their field at about 18:00.
“No foul play is suspected and no inquest is opened due to pending autopsy,” Aiyambo said.
