Man stabbed 12 times
News in short
Chaos erupted at a bar in Bethanie last Saturday when a heated argument escalated into attempted murder. A 19-year-old man was left with multiple stab wounds after a 22-year-old suspect allegedly attacked him.
According to a police report, the victim's friends initially instigated the altercation by stabbing the suspect, prompting the retaliatory assault.
The suspect reportedly stabbed the victim approximately 12 times all over his body. The victim was rushed to Keetmanshoop State Hospital, where he is currently admitted in a stable condition.
Meanwhile, in Oshikoto Region’s Omuthiya, another case of attempted murder was reported last Friday.
A 37-year-old man was assaulted with a large stick by another man of the same age at the Okalongo cuca shops in Onanke village.
The altercation reportedly began after the victim put his feet on a table, leading to an argument. The suspect then picked up a large stick and struck the victim on his head, police said.
“The victim was ferried to Omuthiya State Hospital and was later transferred to Oshakati State Hospital,” the report read.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court this week. Police investigations continue.
