Man robbed while rendering assistance

Four armed men stole a bakkie on Monday at about 20:00 at Mile 11 outside Swakopmund.
Police Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu said Melvin Araeb was travelling alone in his white double-cab bakkie on the main road from Swakopmund towards Henties Bay.
"When he came to Mile 11, he saw a silver Polo parked in the middle of the road. According to him, he stopped to assist, thinking that the vehicle was broken and suddenly four male persons armed with a firearm jumped out and took his vehicle with all his belongings, including his iPhone, and drove in the direction of Henties Bay."
Araeb walked back to Swakopmund and called a friend who picked him up at the service station and took him to the police station. The vehicle has not yet been recovered, and no arrest has been made yet.
