Man ends life by jumping off network tower
A 32-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping from a network tower at Ondangwa on Monday evening. The incident occurred around 20:27 at the Telecom premises near the Ondangwa Police Station.
The deceased, identified as David Lugambo Ndakoko, was a resident of Oluno. According to Oshana Police crime investigation coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, Ndakoko was reportedly suffering from mental illness. Ndjadila confirmed that no foul play is suspected, and the deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
Separate incident at Iikuku village
In a separate incident at Iikuku village in Oshakati East, a 68-year-old man was found dead by his wife on Monday morning. The deceased, identified as Job Willbard Jamwale, reportedly returned home intoxicated from local cuca shops on Sunday night. He went to sleep on a small bed outside his bedroom at approximately 22:00.
At 06:00 the following morning, his wife discovered his lifeless body. Deputy Commissioner Ndjadila stated that no foul play is suspected at this stage, and an inquest has not yet been registered pending the results of a post-mortem examination.
