Man arrested for assaulting girlfriend

A 35-year-old man was arrested on Friday in Muveve village, Kavango West, after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend and threatening her life during a domestic dispute.
Chief Inspector of the Kavango West police, Raimbert Muronga, confirmed the incident, which happened around 17:00.
According to Muronga, the suspect reportedly slapped the 32-year-old woman, leading to her sustaining a cut on her upper lip. He then allegedly threatened to kill her with a kitchen knife.
The police acted swiftly, arresting the suspect and charging him with common assault and assault by threatening. He was set to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
