Man allegedly slashes girlfriend’s legs

TUYEIMO HAIDULA
A man was arrested this week for the alleged brutal act of slashing his girlfriend's legs during an argument.

The incident took place at Ohainete village, in the Oshitutuma area, Oshikoto Region, on Wednesday. The alleged attacker had accused his girlfriend of cheating. The woman is also the mother of their six-year-old child.

Oshikoto police spokesperson, inspector Ellen Nehale, said the attack occurred at the suspect's house while the woman was visiting him.

Nehale said an argument broke out between the couple after the suspect allegedly questioned the victim over having an affair with another man.

In the process, she said the suspect used a knife and stabbed the victim three times on both legs. She sustained serious injuries.

"The victim was taken to Onandjokwe (Intermediate Hospital) and is in stable condition," Nehale said.

A case of domestic violence has been opened and a police investigation into the matter continues.
