A 57-year-old man reportedly died by suicide at Evululuko location in Oshakati shortly after he had allegedly told his wife he was hearing voices.

Oshana Police crime investigation coordinator Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila confirmed the incident last week.

Ndjadila said it is alleged that the man arrived home and informed his wife that he was hearing voices. He reportedly asked her to close the house's windows, then went to the bedroom and locked himself inside.

The deceased had allegedly told his family he had been hearing voices for some time.

Ndjadila said the deceased's lifeless body was found by his nephew in the bedroom after they broke down the door.
