Man accused of raping daughter (11)

A man who stands accused of raping his 11-year-old daughter several times since 2022 is still at large. The last incident allegedly took place on 12 September in the girl's grandmother's bedroom when the man and his daughter were alone at home.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old man was arrested on Saturday afternoon at a traffic control point between Windhoek and Okahandja when he was allegedly found in possession of two kilograms of marijuana. The total value was estimated at N$100 250. The man was also reportedly found with 74 mandrax tablets worth N$8 880.

In another unrelated incident, three people died when the car they were travelling in overturned. The car's tyre reportedly burst, causing the incident about 12 kilometres outside Windhoek. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Police confirmed that three people were thrown from the vehicle when it overturned, and two later succumbed to their injuries. A fourth passenger, who was reportedly wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.
