On Friday, a shocking incident unfolded at Otavi, when a 28-year-old man allegedly snatched a two-year-old child from his mother, went to a nearby railway line where he allegedly hit the child’s head repeatedly on a concrete pole, threw the child away and ran off.
A witness rushed the child to the Otavi State Clinic with severe head injuries. The child was later transferred to Otjiwarongo State Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to the Sunday crime report, the suspect was arrested and investigations continue.
In a separate incident at Otavi and on the same day, 63-year-old Festus Oxurub left farm Hohental to farm Renters. He walked approximately 25 km and is suspected to have died of exhaustion after he was found lying next to the road. He succumbed en route to the hospital.
In an incident at Nkurenkuru, the murder of 17-year-old Kamunoko Kleopas Sikongo was reported on Saturday after he was allegedly stabbed with an okapi by an Angolan national who separated him during a fight with his wife.
In Outjo, a 31-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly hit his girlfriend with a stone on the forehead and continued to kick her after she fell to the ground. The woman who was assaulted at the Kap & Bou location was admitted to the hospital in critical condition while the man is expected to appear in the local magistrate's court on Monday. - [email protected]
