#JustIn Court orders forfeiture of vehicles

Ogone Tlhage
The Gobabis Magistrate's Court ordered the forfeiture of two vehicles used in contravention of the Customs and Excise Act, following two separate incidents that involved the vehicles.

In the first incident, the driver of a VW Golf 6 vehicle drove through the Trans-Kalahari Border Post without adhering to the mandatory customs declaration requirements. The driver was given an N$8 000 fine, or a two-year prison sentence, the Namibia Revenue Agency said.

In a separate incident, a Toyota Wish was forfeited to the State owing to the failure to declare foreign obtained goods at entry by the driver at the Trans-Kalahari Border Post. The driver of the vehicle was further slapped with an N$8 000 fine, or two-year sentence.
