Girl raped in Ongwediva

In Ongwediva, police reported that a 10-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a stranger in bushes in the Onheleiwa village.

"It's alleged that the victim was with other minors (number unknown), walking towards their houses, when they were approached by an unknown man," a police report read.

The suspect allegedly ordered the other minors to go home, while holding onto the victim and preventing her from leaving.

He then pulled the minor into some bushes where he threatened to kill her and subsequently raped her.

According to the police report, the other minors reported the incident, but when residents arrived to the scene, they could not find the suspect.

No arrests have been made. Police investigations continue.
