Girl (11) raped at Ruacana

Police in the Omusati Region have arrested a 30-year-old man after he allegedly raped a 11-year-old girl at Okaruano village in the Ruacana constitiuency.
The incident took place last Sunday at around 22:00. According to a police report, the suspect - who lives in the same house as the victim – allegedly entered the girl’s bedroom, where she was sleeping with her eight-year-old sister. The suspect then reportedly undressed the victim and raped her.
Omusati crime investigation coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, said when the victim realised what was happening, she ran to her mother's room for safety and reported the incident.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Ruacana Magistrate's Court this week.
Police investigations continue.
