Drugs valued at N$80 000 confiscated in Walvis Bay
Two drug busts were made by the police in the Erongo Region.
Warrant officer Tuyenikelao Tashiya confirmed that suspects were found in possession of drugs during a police operation on Tuesday 12 March at about 21:45 at a house in Sam Nujoma Avenue, Walvis Bay.
“Eighty mandrax tablets and 1336 grams of cannabis (skunk) valued at N$76 400 were confiscated. We arrested a Namibian female (28) and a male suspect (age unknown) is still at large.”
The arrested suspect will be charged with dealing and/or possession of cannabis, mandrax and crack cocaine.
In a second bust, a Namibian man (34) was arrested during an intelligence-led police operation Tuesday at about 16:30 at a flat at Kalahari Courts, Narraville, Walvis Bay.
“He allegedly had seven full and four halves of mandrax tablets, 23 units of suspected crack cocaine and 113 grams of cannabis (skunk). The estimated value of the drugs is valued at N$9 030," police said.
