Domestic worker rapes, impregnates teen
News in short
A 21-year-old domestic worker has been arrested for allegedly raping and impregnating a 16-year-old girl.
The victim was reportedly repeatedly raped between February and June in the Elim constituency’s Iihanguti village, at night while everyone else was sleeping.
Omusati Region police crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Moses Simaho, said the suspect - who is an Angolan national - has been arrested and will be charged today. Investigations continue.
In a separate incident, on Monday morning in the Ruacana constituency’s Ongolonongeyama village, a seven-year-old boy discovered the lifeless body of a 51-year-old man while on his way to school.
It is alleged that the deceased was last seen that same day when he left the house for the Ruacana Magistrate’s Court.
The deceased has been identified as Hangula Matusi. His body has been transported to the Okahao police mortuary for an autopsy.
“No foul play was detected,” police said.
