Cop busted for police jobs scam

A police officer was arrested in connection with a job recruitment scam, the Namibian Police said in a statement.

Spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi warned members of the public about fake police job recruitment scams making the rounds.
“The public, and in particular the unsuccessful candidates from the recent police recruitment process, are hereby warned to be cautious of potential scammers who may try to deceive them with a special recruitment,” a statement read.
She added that the police intake for 2024/25 started last week and no further admissions will be considered.
“The public is advised to be vigilant and avoid making payments to individuals claiming to secure them [applicants] recruitment into the Namibian Police."
