Armed robbers loot Jolly Joker Bar In Omaruru

The Erongo police are appealing for public assistance in tracing the whereabouts of three suspects who allegedly robbed Jolly Joker Bar in Omarura on Tuesday last week.
Erongo police deputy commissioner Erastus Iikuyu confirmed the incident, saying it happened around 21:00. Iikuyu said it was alleged that three unidentified suspects armed with a knife, panga and pistol stormed into the Jolly Joker bar and closed the door.
"The suspects attacked a 69-year-old bartender by hitting him with a panga on the face. The suspects also attacked a 30-year-old customer who was playing the jackpot machine. He sustained injuries to his head."
According to Iikuyu, the suspects managed to steal a Swiss 9mm pistol and a Samsung Galaxy cell phone from the bartender, valued at N$20 000.
"They also broke and looted N$8 000 cash from two machines at gunpoint before they fired in the air and ran off on foot," he said.
