A case of attempted murder is being investigated in the Oshikoto Region after an Angolan man (50) reportedly attacked his countryman (36) with a panga last Friday.
Chief Inspector Ellen Nehale-Kangulu from the Oshikoto community policing sub-division said the incident took place at around 20:00 at the Ofilu cuca shops in Oothadhambuku village.

The suspect then started chasing the victim and chopped him with the panga on his head as well as on his left arm before fleeing the scene.

Although he was initially transported to the Omuthiya District Hospital, he was subsequently transferred to the Onandjokwe State Hospital, where is he is receiving treatment and is reported to be in critical condition.
Nehale-Kangulu said the suspect and the victim are both employed as domestic workers in Onanke village. The suspect has been arrested and will appear in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court this week.
