Trade ministry appoints new boards

The minister of industrialisation and trade Lucia Iipumbu on Monday announced the appointment of the Namibia Estates Agency Board (NEAB) and the Namibia Competition Commission (NaCC) board of directors.
Both boards will serve for a total of three years, effective 26 March to 31 March 2026 for the NEAB and 1 August to 31 July 2026 for the NaCC.
The new board of directors for the NEAB are chairperson Marvel Tjombonde, deputy chairperson Abel Sindano, Simeon Kahona, Dickson Swanepoel and Liberty Mupopiwa.
The new NaCC board comprises of chairperson Andreas Penda Ithindi, deputy chairperson Isabella Tjatjara, Siegfried Josua Neumann, Irene Simeon Kurtz and Benjamin Biwa.
Iipumbu also announced the appointment of the Namibia Standards Institution CEO, Eino Mvula. Mvula replaced Chie Wasserfall who retired in December 2022.
"Some of the compliance matters I expect to be fully adhered to is the signing of performance agreements by the board of directors with the line minister, developing and submitting an integrated strategic business plan, timely submission of annual reports and the compilation and submission of financial reports," Iipumbu said.
