Navachab empowers 10 entrepreneurs
News in short
A QKR Namibia Navachab Gold Mine initiative launched earlier this year will benefit 10 entrepreneurs.
Each of the 10 chosen for the project will get up to N$150 000 to launch their respective company concepts. The project has a ceiling of N$1.5 million.
According to managing director George Botshiwe, they “want to remove the impediment of lack of access to funding” by providing the beneficiaries with seed capital.
“We also know from studies that it would not be prudent to merely provide seed capital without the provision of much-needed capacity building and business training.
“Therefore, we made sure that the participants received financial management, entrepreneurship and leadership training as well as the opportunity to put together a presentation of their business and pitch their business idea to a panel of judges,” he said.
He added that this will ultimately equip the entrepreneurs “with the necessary tools and resources to manage their businesses”.
The entrepreneurs will continue receiving training, he said.
