Savannah Collins headlines Day 3 of Namibia Tourism Expo

Celebrated Namibian singer-songwriter Savannah Collins is set to headline Day 3 of the Namibia Tourism Expo tonight at the Windhoek Country Club Resort.
In an interview with tjil ahead of her big performance, she shared: "I'm thrilled to be performing at the Namibia Tourism Expo again. Last year was an unforgettable experience and it always falls on or just before my birthday, so it really is very special for me to be part of the line-up. This year, I'll be celebrating my birthday on stage, doing what I love most! It makes this event incredibly special to me," she said.
Collins is set to captivate the audience once again with a mix of new original songs and deeply loved covers. "It’s an honour to be invited back to such a well-organised event. It’s a testament to the vibrant cultural scene here in Namibia," she added.
Wave of creative energy
This year, Collins aims to bring a more intimate experience to her expo set. Known for her eclectic blend of rock and blues with country influences, she plans to deliver an acoustic solo set that promises to touch every listener. "I'm preparing to share not only the music I love, but also some of my new work, including my latest single 'Back to Me'," she promised.
The opportunity to perform at the Namibia Tourism Expo is not just a professional milestone, but also a chance to showcase her growth as an artist, she noted. Having recently opened for Dan Patlansky in Cape Town, Collins is riding a wave of creative energy.
“I was privileged to open as the only Namibian act for Dan's shows in Cape Town. He is ranked as the fourth greatest guitarist in the world! These experiences fuel my performances and my excitement to connect with the audience here."
Beyond her life on stage, Collins is profoundly dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians through her Songbird Vocal Studio. Celebrating its third anniversary on Monday, 1 May, the studio is not just a passion project, but a cornerstone of her mission to educate aspiring singers.
"We're accredited with the University of South Africa [Unisa], which allows us to offer recognised music education," Collins proudly stated. Her students Annika Henckert and Rayne Sadler recently achieved high honours at the Voice of Namibia competition, a testament to the studio's impact.
Looking forward, Collins is buzzing with plans for new shows and festival appearances, reflecting Namibia's growing live music scene. "I'm also gearing up to hit the studio again to record some new material," she revealed. Meanwhile, Songbird Vocal Studio is poised to participate in more competitions, continuing its mission to elevate young voices.
