Namibian music producers to be honoured at appreciation concert
Divas & Gents Lifestyle Fitness Centre is set to host an Appreciation Concert on Saturday, 9 March 2024, dedicated to legendary Namibian music producers.
This groundbreaking event, organised by Liezel Ndjaronguru, the founder of the fitness center, aims to benefit the often-overlooked struggles faced by music producers.
In an exclusive interview with Namibian Sun, Ndjaronguru expressed her motivation behind this tribute. "The concert concept was inspired by the silent battles music producers endure. We're in the planning phase and details regarding the lineup and event specifics will follow soon," she said.
She emphasised the concert's recurring significance, stating, "We envision this as an annual event with proceeds benefiting music producers, aiming to celebrate our musical heritage. The first instalment is a dedication to Elvo ‘Dr Mavovo’ Diergaardt, Araffath Muhuure, Mr. Glo and DJ KBoz."
Ndjaronguru called for support from both the creative community and corporate entities. "We urge artists to voluntarily join this initiative. Any assistance from sponsors is invaluable," she said, underlining the collaborative nature of this endeavour.
