Namibia readies for first Restoration Concert
On Saturday (25 November), the Dr Hage Geingob stadium plays host to Namibia’s first Restoration Concert.
The initiative, dubbed as a gathering of God’s people, promises to be explosive and is organised by Project Never Walk Alone. The event is aimed at bringing Namibians together through music with a purpose. “The aim will be to seek restoration through all the turbulent times we have gone through as a nation.
“The concert is also a reminder that despite these trying times, Namibia and Africa belong to God and he will never leave us nor forsake us. We will restore broken homes, broken hearts and a broken nation by seeking the presence of God. It will be a come-together of great significance and a celebration of life,” read a media statement courtesy of Never Walk Alone.
The statement noted that the celebration involves 26 artists, with 25 from Namibia performing alongside Joyous Celebration from South Africa. The local lineup includes the likes of Omaruru Young Brothers Choir, Soli Deo Gloria, ACM Entertainment Group, Joharetha Nel and Etienne Boois, along with Vuuyo, Khwezi, Ndenda, Collective Singers, Adoration HC, Marathana, D Naff and Manda Gabriel.
“We are excited about the event because it is not just another music concert; it is a journey towards transformation and restoration. To restore means to get back what you have lost but, in this case, God promises to restore us to an even better position. We wish to invite all Namibians to join us at this event. All proceeds go towards the activities of Project Never Walk Alone, which is to assist even more barefooted kids,” said events manager Beverly Naris.
The gates open at 15:00 and the first performance starts at 17:10 on the dot, with the last performance starting at 22:00 with Joyous Celebration.
Four categories of tickets are available, namely Premium (N$250), Golden Circle (N$500), VIP single (N$1 000) and VIP Booths seating 25 persons for N$25 000, all via webtickets.com.na
