Kamenye to represent Namibia at Miss Tourism World
Naomi Kamenye, a 22-year-old beautician and student from Windhoek, is taking her talents to the global stage as she prepares to represent Namibia at the Miss Tourism World 2023 pageant in China.
She was appointed by the national director and franchise holder in Namibia, Walk By Bobby Kaanjosa, a company owned by pageant entrepreneur Bobby Kaanjosa.
According to Kaanjosa, Kamenye will be the fifth Namibian woman to compete in this prestigious pageant.
“She is following in the footsteps of Miss Namibia 2018 top 12 finalist Jo-Anne Nanus, who represented the Land of the Brave at the event in 2018 and won the title of Miss Tourism ambassador of the globe.
“This international pageant, which is based in China, aims to find global ambassadors for the promotion of tourism worldwide, as well as that of Chinese tourism,” Kaanjosa shared, adding that the event, which is back after a three-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will be staged in September in Changsha.
Miss Tourism World will feature at least 80 contestants, with the winner of the competition walking away with an US$8 000 (about N$146 900) cash prize.
