JUST IN: Spotlight on African art industry at upcoming conference

The Africa Music, Art and Culture Exhibition will take place from 20 to 23 June at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka, Zambia. The vice chairperson of the National Arts Council of Namibia, Dr Isobel Manuel, will be a guest speaker at the event. Manuel will participate in a panel discussion that examines art policies, opportunities and challenges for artists in the SADC region. The event will be held under the theme 'harnessing the dividends of the African creative industry through investment in youth talents'. The conference will provide a stimulating atmosphere to discuss topics such as music and art forms, challenges faced by African content creators, technology as an empowering tool for creative expression, ongoing development of artistic trends, and the digitisation of contemporary art.
