Introducing Jazz Junction: A New Monthly Celebration of Jazz at FNCC
The Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) is proud to present Jazz Junction, an exciting new monthly concert series dedicated to celebrating jazz in all its forms.
Kicking off on Friday, 24 January at 19:00 at FNCC, Jazz Junction promises to bring together local and international jazz talents, offering an unforgettable musical experience to audiences in Windhoek. Each Jazz Junction event will feature an engaging lineup of talented jazz musicians, followed by an interactive workshop the next day, providing a unique opportunity for music enthusiasts and aspiring artists to deepen their understanding of jazz techniques and history.
The first installment of Jazz Junction will showcase the incredible talents of Stanley Claassen, known as /Nam/namsa Damarob. A graduate of the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, Stanley is a renowned composer, performer, and music educator, currently serving as a lecturer at the College of the Arts. His fusion of traditional and contemporary jazz styles promises to captivate and inspire audiences.
“Jazz Junction is more than just a concert; it’s an immersive experience that aims to cultivate a deeper appreciation for jazz while fostering cultural exchange and artistic growth.
