As the Rundu Trade Fair draws near, music lovers are in for an unforgettable experience with House Guru Gang (HGG) celebrating their 10-year milestone in the industry.

The event, titled 'The Decade,' promises to be a night of entertainment and a testament to the group's unwavering commitment to the music scene, according to the organizers. Formed in 2014, House Guru Gang is a Namibian Kwaito and Afro house music group, made up of Kahengutji "Chahelman" Richard, Sappy “Jowdy” Mathias and Baptista “Nasho” Gerson.

Gerson, one of the members of HGG, described the celebration as more than just a party, but as a symbol of the team’s growth and resilience. "House Guru Gang is a slowly but steadily growing baby elephant. With every milestone, a celebration of this magnitude is a must. Ten years in the music scene is noteworthy,” he said.

"HGG is a trinity. Any believer will understand. These are three pillars that stand together through losses and wins, ups and downs. We are a team of tough-minded but not like-minded individuals. It’s hard enough to stay focused on a common goal, but here we are, 10 years strong. This is a safe place,” he added. The event, scheduled for 1 November, promises "the best of the best of entertainment”. According to Gerson, the preparations have been extensive, involving flights, visas for international acts, rehearsals, and much more.

"We put all our might into this event, so our fans should expect the best of House Guru Gang. Some live music will be showcased by the Generalz Band as well. Nonkwazi, an award-winning South African singer and songwriter, will be performing with us on this night. She is very excited about this. A lot of preparation has been going on from her side. She sends us a video of them rehearsing every three days just to show how ready she is getting. We are still in talks with strong other local acts that we will announce in the coming week,” he said.

He assured fans that security will be tight and that the venue has been secured. "The sound and stage are big. This is also going to be a platform for a lot of upcoming artists. I encourage our fellow youth to come in numbers but leave the trouble behind. Let us have a quality time,” Looking ahead, Gerson said there are exciting developments for HGG, including more international collaborations. "This event marks the beginning of a new testament. These outside connections will see us perform internationally in the coming year. So come all, come in numbers. This year’s Rundu Trade Fair is going to be a blast. This is the biggest event of the year,” he said.
