Namibia is about to witness the rise of a sensational new talent as Khadijah Herunga prepares to release her highly anticipated debut EP, ‘A Letter To You,’ on Wednesday, 19 July.

The talented singer-songwriter and performer has already caused a stir with her unique fusion of jazz and modern amapiano, promising listeners a captivating musical journey that - according to her - “seamlessly blends elegance and infectious dance beats”.

On this remarkable project, Herunga shared that she collaborated with a team of exceptionally talented and driven individuals who share her vision for success.

Her producer, Devitchi, has crafted beautiful tracks that perfectly complement Herunga's soulful vocals, demonstrating an almost telepathic understanding of her musical desires.

“Additionally, MIDAS.ent, a group of gifted professionals, played an instrumental role in helping me discover my distinct sound. Their combined efforts have resulted in an EP that holds deep personal meaning for me,” she said.

She noted that ‘A Letter To You’ weaves a heartfelt story of love and loss, drawing listeners in to her personal journey of a romance that once was and has since slipped away.

“Each track on the EP carries profound significance, making it a collection that I deeply cherish.”

Finding solace

From the infectious melodies to the poignant lyrics, Herunga's music aims to touch the hearts and souls of her audience.

For the songstress, ‘A Letter to You’ is not just her first body of work, it's a profound expression of her innermost emotions.

She told tjil that her primary aspiration for this project is to reach as many ears as possible and have her story told through her music.

While she admits to not being much of a talker, she finds solace and a means of communication through songwriting and singing. Her desire is for her music to envelop listeners like a warm embrace, providing comfort and connection, she said.

Raw and authentic

Herunga is not only a rising star in the music industry; she is also a devoted mother. Through her artistry, she seeks to leave an indelible mark on Namibia, inspiring a new generation of music enthusiasts and fostering cultural growth.

Most importantly, she hopes to make her daughter proud, serving as a shining example of perseverance, creativity and the pursuit of dreams.

With her raw and authentic sound, she is poised to make a lasting impact and carve out a unique space in the hearts of music lovers across Namibia. Get ready to be captivated by her enchanting melodies and heartfelt lyrics when the EP becomes available on digital streaming platforms next Wednesday.
