After a brief hiatus from the mainstream music scene, Namibian artist Emmanuel Rose is making waves once again with the release of his latest single, ‘Nyuku'.

The track, a collaboration with rising star Yeezir, has been met with enthusiasm since its debut, marking a new chapter in Rose's decade-long career. Co-produced by Emmanuel Rose and Zesh Domingo, and mixed by Ian Lovly, the song showcases the artist’s polished sound, which he credits to a period of reflection and refinement during his time away from the spotlight.

The single, which is available on all major streaming platforms, has already made a splash with its accompanying music video, directed by Rose himself. Shot by award-winning cinematographer Didi Reloaded, the video has quickly amassed over 5 000 views on YouTube within just five days of its release – a strong indicator of the track’s momentum. The video's aesthetic, conceptualised by Rose, blends his personal journey with a visual narrative that highlights both his artistic growth and resilience.

Time to renew

In an interview with tjil, Rose opened up about this pivotal moment in his career, describing the release of ‘Nyuku’ as part of a broader comeback. “I have been in the music industry for about 10 years, and during this time, there was a period where I wasn’t present in the mainstream scene, even though I continued recording music,” Rose said. “I took that time off to polish my sound, which is why the music I’m releasing now is much better than my past work.”

Rose, who was previously known as LMPC, also spoke candidly about his personal rebranding. Rather than viewing it as a complete reinvention, he sees his new moniker as a tribute to his late mother, Rosemary. “I decided to add ‘Rose’ because it’s my mother’s name,” he explained. “Now, my mother lives on through me.” The emotional significance of this rebranding adds a deeper layer to Rose's latest work, reflecting his journey of loss, growth and artistic renewal.

The collaboration with Yeezir, a celebrated Namibian artist in his own right, adds an extra dimension to ‘Nyuku.’ Rose noted that the collaboration developed naturally, driven by mutual respect for each other’s craft. “It was a pleasure working with Yeezir. We both understand the importance of quality, and I believe that shines through in this track,” Rose said. He also expressed his gratitude for the team that brought the song and video to life, including producer Zesh Domingo, who also mastered the track. ‘Nyuku’ is available on all major streaming platforms.
