The Capricorn Private Wealth Baroque Festival will again spotlight young Namibian musicians, performing alongside a full orchestra on Saturday, 12 April, and Sunday, 13 April, at the Reformed Church, 3 Luther Street in Windhoek, starting at 19:00.

The two-day festival, hosted by the Namibian National Symphony Orchestra (NNSO), is supported by Capricorn Private Wealth to inspire passion and the thrill of live performance where young Namibian musicians showcase their talents and fuel their motivation to practise and perfect their craft.

The concert will be conducted by Nezih Seckim from Turkey, who will perform alongside the Namibian National Symphony Orchestra. In preparation for the event, artists are diligently practising their music and rehearsing together, with plans for a grand final performance that will showcase all the musicians involved.

NNSO board member Irmgard Rannersmann said the event is a concert format that has been used for many years and shows incredible development. “The fast progress is amazing. In the meantime, some of the previous soloists are playing regularly in the orchestra. This year, it is the Concerto Grosso by a South African composer, which has never been performed in Namibia, and the pieces from 'Beatles meet Baroque' will bring some nice surprises to spice up the programme,” she said.

The festival will showcase 10 outstanding young soloists. Two adults, Jürgen Kriess and Deborah Haindongo, will join them and perform the Concerto Grosso Soli. The 30 musicians’ orchestra will fill the venue with outstanding and vibrant sounds.

Tickets for the festival are available at webtickets.com.na and Pick’nPay.

Tickets cost N$220 for adults and children, and N$140 for students and pensioners, and are available via webtickets.com.na
