Nel named harvest king
Attie Nel of farm Algier near Tsumebwas, where a total of about 160 hectares of maize is planted, was named 2022's maize harvest king last weekend. He was crowned during the Grootfontein Farmers' Association 50th Harvest Festival.
Nel said this is a record harvest year, with maize harvests nationally expected to exceed 110 000 tonnes.
