Borders closed for nearly all vegetable imports

The Namibian Agronomic Board (NAB) has announced that the country’s borders will be closed to nearly all vegetable imports this month.
The border are closed for the import of all types and sizes of beetroot, butternut squash, cabbage, carrot, English cucumber, coloured peppers, green peppers, squash, onions, pumpkin, corn and spinach, as well as watermelon and tomatoes - except round tomatoes.
Pro-rata imports are allowed for sweet potatoes, round tomatoes and melons. Meanwhile, the border remains open for iceberg lettuce and washed potatoes.
